PLAY! A Video Game Symphony

Tonight, Rachel and I will be driving out to Baltimore to go to a concert. Here's some information about it from their website:

PLAY! A Video Game Symphony is a Symphony world-tour featuring music from blockbuster video games. The music is performed by some of the finest, world-class orchestras and choirs. All concerts take place in classy, prestigious venues. Graphics on large screens suspended above the orchestra accompany the scores, highlighting memorable moments from the video games.

I'm pretty excited. The conductor(Arnie Roth) looks a bit like Vincent Price.

Some of what I had been working on since last year.

Or, at least what I can show at the moment. For the ones that haven't had screenshots officially released I can at least put up the concept I had to work from.

Winged Nightmare
The Winged Nightmare is a truly horrifying creation of the Vampire Counts, who use their mastery of necromantic magic to fuse together body parts from powerful creatures such as Griffons and Manticores, supplemented with deadly horns, spines, tusks and huge malformed claws.



Dryad
Dryads are tree spirits who are closely tied to the magical forest of Athel Loren. They are taller than a man, and can take on the form of various species of trees. Dryads are only found within or very near to large areas of forest or woodland, and they act as guardians to the trees in which they dwell. They are in possession of a conscience which is entirely inhuman, showing neither compassion nor mercy to any who would threaten that which they guard.

Giant
Giants are some of the largest creatures still to stride the surface of the world, being 18 feet tall or more, and their battle prowess is justly feared. Indeed, if they were even vaguely organised, their scattered tribes could still offer a terrible threat to the civilised nations. Fortunately for all the “little” races, conscious thought seems to be somewhat painful for Giants and any capacity for reasoning they have is usually directed to thinking about their next source of food or drink. Giants consume prodigious amounts of flesh and a single Giant can consume five whole cows each day and still have room for more, but it is their appetite for alcohol which is their strongest motivator. Giants drink to excess and they’re constantly inebriated. Even the most sober of Giants is a bit tipsy. It is for this reason that Giants often work as mercenaries for the armies of other races, since it is the only way they can get their hands on the massive quantities of ale needed to get themselves properly drunk. A variation is the corrupted Chaos Giant.

Disciple of Khaine [2nd tier armor set]
The Disciple of Khaine is a career in the Dark Elf army, filling the support archetype in House Uthorin. They are a melee based healer, occupying a similar role for the Destruction realm as the Warrior Priest does for Order.
